With that cap, still short a roster spot or two. If Heed is NHL capable he isn't signing for 775,000 as RHD UFA. Zaitsev is a tough trade because of five year term. IMO teams would prefer cap flexibility though his 4.5m cap hit is OK. So let's assume Zaitsev stays, then you're looking at a 6m cap net cap reduction elsewhere.

Nylander would not be traded. Id do Tanev half retained and 3rd for Zaitsev and Kapanen. Tanevs trade value is very low.

Think the Leaf might take that deal and and the Tanev clause isn't necessary. Nylander, Zaitev and the 55th for Tanev and the 9th. Maybe that might not go well with the Canucks, especially their fans with all the unnecessary hatred of Zaitsev.
