I thought you were being serious when it said realistic. No way Chicago or Calgary makes those trades.

Realistic? I would say no if I was Chicago, Anaheim, and Calgary. Calgary isn't going to retain salary on anyone when Pittsburgh is almost forced to trade Fleury now that the expansion is inevitable. Trade value for a lot of guys like him went down a lot.

Actually Calgary would be thrilled. They have a #1 G and they are getting rid of Wideman's contract (you could see him bought out the next weeks). Anaheim is not going to do it, but throw in a draft pick. And Chicago, well, you never know. They might say yes.

The only way CHI gets MALKIN is TOEWS or KANE. That's reality. Reality is the deal doesn't happen.

FEHR to ANA is a better fit for him. Worst case is take a 3rd round pick and get UFA STAAL or RICHARDS to fill out the center position.

No salary retention for CAL trade if cap goes up

Eh I think a deal can get done centered around Anisimov/Shaw/picks - But Pittsburgh will not trade Geno. Not gonna happen. Three center model is still in place and as the years go by his contract only gets better.

I agree w you. The idea has been floated around of trading MALKIN to Chicago and it makes no sense. The only way I do it is for TOEWS . Otherwise no deal.

Chicago laughs in Pittsburgh's face for that deal. I don't know if they would even trade Toews if they were offered McDavid...
