As a jets fan, I though long and hard about that Trouba trade, and I eventually came to the conclusion that we respectfully decline.

Howden doesn’t really impress as he has done just a little bit more that roslovic with a lot greater of an opportunity

Pionk signed with you guys as a college free agent. He would never sign with us long term once his next deal (assuming it’s a bridge) comes to an end. It would just be Jacob Trouba all over again (except not as valuable of course)

The first is nice with the player I would select being Ryan Suzuki. However, I would rather it be your 2020 first because it’s a deeper draft, but I’m guessing that pick is off the table. So I’ll take my losses on that one. However, the rest I don’t see matching up.

Therefore, that is why I think the jets decline

Just curious, would swapping out Pionk for DeAngelo make enough of a difference? He's much better and more likely to resign. As a Ranger fan it would probably make me not do the deal.
Lias Andersson could replace Howden but it's the same thing with him, you have talent there but no NHL production yet.

Kreider trade not happening...if the Rangers can't get a 1st and either a prospect or another pick out of him- they will not move him until TDL- and will get just that from a team trying to make a playoff push...but Kreider's value will also be reflected in his likelihood of re-signing...which maybe iffy with Edm- therefore they might not be the best trade partner for him...Boston, Buffalo, Nashville, or Colorado are much more likely re-sign destinations....BTW, Puljujarvi certainly has talent- but coming off injury, and given the struggles he's had- he is worth a gamble in a change of scenery- but his value is pennies on the dollar as he is looking more like a Yakupov type bust.

You way underpaid our RFAs. Get rid of the Tampa deal, send Namestnikov out west with less or no money retained and you'll be able to properly pay our players. Probably can avoid the Staal buyout too, which sets us up better for the future.

Also, that MTL deal is brutal. You're basically giving away Georgiev, who's a potential NHL starter, for a bag of pucks.

Sort of. Deangelo would be good but I do not think he fits the jets’ needs now. He is a small undersized defensemen. The jets need and big aggressive defensemen who could serve as a trouba replacement. However, we could find that elsewhere so we do the deal imo

Andersson seems to lack skill to be a top 6 forward honestly. While howden has speed but brings the same thing as roslovic. I would say that we need someone different than roslovic who brings a just as much skill, just in a different way.

If you change it to deangelo, deal
