Carolina and Coyotes fans come at me

Created by: Jangle29

Description
I feel like the price for Hamilton is fair, but the Marleau dump may be off. If it is, the Zaitsev deal is a rip off for the leafs so whatever difference in that can go to the Coyotes to make up that difference

I think you did well. Canes might want a 3rd piece, but all in all. Solid.

I don't understand the Demers part of the Leafs deal. Gotta think Arizona needs him more than two forwards. Marleau and a 2nd for Hossa. might do it. Hossa because 1m is uninsured per year.
At I don't understand the Ducks deal. Do the Ducks really want to take Zaitsev at 4.5 m X 5? Eaves I have never understood the significance in the trade. Is his LTIR uninsured?

Totally disagree. I am thinking the Canes want more than that. Canes are in win-now mode.

Let's put it this way, would you want draft picks back for Kadri? Of course not, you want a RD to help the team win. Carolina wants offensive production if they are going to move a D, not a low first round pick who might never make the team. Hard pass from them.

I was thinking that at first too but then realized Hamilton only has 2 years left. Hard to say but a 3rd round pick or mid to high prospect maybe

Yes Eaves is uninsured. Ducks need RD, and reported interested in Zaitsev at first

3rd piece will definitely be needed by the Canes. Especially considering Hamilton is on a manageable contract.

22 year old controllable top 6 winger. The value is there. Hamilton is one year from being a rental

Plus the pick not til 20 almost guarantees they’d want a 3rd piece. Mid-level prospect/player/pick

Look at what the Leafs traded for Jake Muzzin, and then remember Pesce is better. At least hit that value.

Hamilton

Sorry, mistake on my part. Point still stands however. And Hamilton has two full seasons, Muzzin only had 1.5

I still think Carolina is in the drivers seat. They have Pesce long term, can resign Faulk now, and still TVR as a really good 1-2-3. Add Kapanen to their top 6 and picks

Again, I don't think they want picks.

So if Hamilton is expendable a) why did they trade for him last year (they would want at least close value to that) and b) why wouldn't they shop around? They are almost certain to get more than that for Hamilton. Zucker, Kessel, William Karlsson maybe? Don't assume you are going to get the guy you want at a discount this offseason. You have to give quality to get quality, and contending teams don't want draft picks.

I think they only got him because of the trouble signing Hanifin. I think they were planning to move Pesce until he became their best RD. Its not a bad think to take picks when you can turn and trade them for whatever help you want. I dont think anyone else is paying more than what that offer is right there and Hamilton is the guy to trade on their right side.
