I disagree with this. Finding a #1 centre is hard enough as it is. Have a solid 1-2 punch is a must have. If anything I would say Nylander is the odd man out and it is more his contract then JT.

I'm not a Leafs fan but you're exactly right. Spend less then that $11 million on replacing Bozak, one solid defenseman and a better backup goalie and the Leafs are a better all round team and have money left to pay Marner.

Also Eberle and Nelson both just signed deals below market value to stay long term. Isles have the cap space to add players and improve the roster while the leafs will only have a worse roster than they had last season.

dunno where your from but its 9 am here, the signing shouldn't of happened because that 11 mil could have been used to keep players that left and add to an awful blueline but it did so they can now fix their mistake by trading Tavares and bolster the blueline and adding prospects. Goodmorning

Bozak (solid 3rd liner), then use the other 6 mil to go and grab a dman or just enjoy having cap space so you can actually make moves ie ( have more depth). To win a cup you need a mix of grit, skill and a balance between offense and defense that Tavares signing just added more offense to a team that was top 5 in terms of forwards

He means 4 first and still have JT but honestly 4 first that are in the 10-20 range could be more valuable those picks tend to become top 6 and top 4 dmen which would create loads of depth and options but theres the risk that the picks become nothing so idk honestly
