Well I don't know how to type. Anyway, Spurgeon is not better than Letang. I don't see any evidence saying he is other than your carrots. Zucker is better than Rust, but really he's had one big year and comes in at 2M more than Rust. If you look at other years they're fairly similar but Zucker has more offensive upside. The picks might be a bit of a stretch to include.

Spurgeon better than Letang?
Letang finished 6th in Norris voting with 145 points and Spurgeon got one vote as some's #3 which gave him 5 points
Spurgeon just cracked 40 points for the first time in his career at 29 years old and Letang had 56

Spurgeon is not better than Letang, at all.
On the ice, Zucker is slightly better than Rust (even with Zucker's fluke 33g year), but considering contracts, no.
The only thing that you got right was the picks.

Letang >>> Spurgeon
Rust $3.5Mx3 >> Zucker $5.5Mx4
21OA <<< 12OA

That trade would be a considerable Wild win.

I think Zucker still has the edge on Rust, but I don't think it's much once you consider the contracts. I think Zucker with Sid or Geno could be a more consistent scorer and be around a 30g/30a player, but that's just me.

Zucker is quite a good player, and is probably even faster than Rusty which is incredible to think about. He has 59 even strength goals since '16-'17 and hasn't really had outstanding teammates like he would in Pitt. Getting both Spurgeon and Zucker would be tricky, as they are probably they're top two tradeable players right now. I would think they would try and get younger first, but it is Letang so who knows what Fenton would do. I can see Pens throwing in Hallander or Addison to even out the climb in draft picks, but again I am not sure. Intriguing for sure

I've read that someone was putting pressure on them to stay in win now mode, but I wouldn't be opposed to adding in one of them if that's what it took to make it work. I still have concerns about this defense, but I'm betting on Petterson and Fleury take a step forward this year.

I loled at Spurgeon > Letang. Carolina has no need for Jarry.
