Im not hating, im 90% sure they make the playoffs. Its just some questions around Marner, lack of a solid backup, Ceci in the lineup. I also really like Bobrovsky so that's why I think they finish there. I also almost put MTL in front of Buffalo

Rielly, Muzzin, Dermott and Barrie. That’s a pretty solid back end. Constructed very similarly to the 2016 Penguins, which everyone also doubted.

yeah I mean I think its Chicago and Winnipeg fighting for that last spot and Chicago added Lehner and I could see them edging Winnipeg for that last spot

Also 2 of their 3 best defensive forwards in Brown and Kadri are gone and barrie isn't a good defender.

But Barrie is an established puck moving defenseman. The Brown loss hurts but he is replaceable as guys like Moore can fill his spot, they play the same type of game. Kerfoot has better defensive stats and metrics than Kadri, plus plays a more disciplined game despite possessing far less skill. So I don’t see it being much of a problem, it seems the Leafs roster has improved from last season. Add Marner to the mix, this is a highly skilled offensive team.

I think the Leafs picked up Kerfoot because they think he can play a similar role to what Bonino did for the Penguins. Solid defensive player who doesn’t score often but exactly what they need for the system.

it's fine though. The leafs will score a million goals this season. They'll give up a boat load too. Everyone will be excited for a deep cup run, and then.....round 1 or 2 exit. Why? Because their back end is thin, offensively oriented, and can't stand up to a team that has more than one good scoring line.
