Spurgeon, probably, too. My guess is he's going to want $8M to stay here (might take less on a contender) and I don't think Guerin will want to give him that. I'd be sick to my stomach if we actually do trade him, but I think it's very likely.

Yeah I wasn't sure if he was or not, I left him off until I hear what Guerins plans are, but I can toss him on

I feel like Martinez and Vatanen could be available.

Faulk isn't "on the block" it's more the maths issue that 4 great RD don't go into 3 spots. Faulk is the odd man out with him being a pending UFA etc etc

I might be able to give an update later. Guerin is scheduled to be on the MN sports radio station at 4:30, and the host (Dan Barreiro) was told by our beat writer (Michael Russo) earlier in the show that a good question to ask Guerin is what his plan is for this team. If he says "partial rebuild" or "rebuild on the fly", time to kiss Spurgeon goodbye. If he says "contend now" then I think we'll re-sign him.

I left Vatanen off since he primarily plays on the left side but he is definetly an option, I wasn't sure where the kings stood with Martinez so I left him off

That's what I assumed, I just had him since I know there has been chatter around him

As much as I like Spurgeon signing 30 year old to 7+ year deals is Not what the Wild need to do.

Who else would be likely to move if partial rebuild or rebuild on the fly are said? Zucker, Staal?

Hamilton, Pesce, Faulk, van Riemsdyk, but TvR is more suited to that bottom pair role which pushes Faulk out. Addind in Priskie and McKeown plus Lutinemi means maybe they're looking to move one with how deep the organisation is at RD

I think that's a big drop off from Faulk. Carolina is a real.contender, I wouldn't mess that up this year. Id move TVR first. Desperate teams will overpay.

I agree wholeheartedly. If we re-sign him, I'd be very unhappy with anything longer than 4-5 years.

Probably those two, Koivu at the deadline is a possibility as well. I could also see Brodin being traded before his contract expires. One of our young guys could be a possibility as well (excluding Kunin) since we have way too many LW's and as it stands Greenway, Donato, and Fiala should all be seeing top 9 minutes on the left side.

Pateryn could probably be had. He was on the block last year but never got dealt. We have cheaper internal replacements for him (Belpedio, Hunt). I would be surprised if Dubnyk is traded, right now we don't have a sure-thing replacement for him. Maybe if Robson or Kahkonen emerge as stars in the AHL and Dubnyk is struggling we'd move him at the deadline or in the offseason, but right now I think he's safe regardless of what the plan is.

Spurgeon especially, Martinez and Petry are really on the block?
TOR just got Ceci #CodyCeciIsATorontoMapleLeaf

made a complete list of D that could move
John Moore (inj)
Kevan Miller (inj)
Rasmus Ristolainen (for sure)
Zach Bogosian?
Matt Hunwick likely
Marco Scandella maybe
TJ Brodie (Valimaki is injured so idk)
Justin Faulk (he's out)
Julius Honka (needs new start)
Trevor Daley (now until deadline)
Jonathan Ericsson (he sucks)
Matt Benning (I guess)
Brandon Manning (no takers; bury in the ECHL)
Greg Pateryn (MIN tried to move him as @TanSor pointed out)
Karl Alzner (MTL is done with him)
Sami Vatanen (4 RD)
Thomas Hickey (healthy scratch)
Brendan Smith (welp)
Robert Hagg (no place for him)
Samuel Morin (should play..or should he?)
Jack Johnson/Erik Gudbranson (yikes)
Brendan Dillon?
Nick Holden (cap)
Dmitry Kulikov (is bad)

VAN, TOR, TBL, STL, NSH, FLA, CBJ, COL are teams that could move a D at some point imo

So he talked about "building around what we have" and that there is a good base in place, but also that him and Craig believe there is a lot of work to do. I'm interpreting that as kind of rebuilding on the fly, but probably keeping most of the vets on the team. It is noteworthy that he was brought up under Rutherford's wing so he might have the wheel-and-deal mentality...

It is, but TvR is the better guy for the 3rd pair. Faulk won't be happy with 3rd line ice time etc etc, he's not on the block it's just a maths issue. People don't realise Pesce is probably gonna end up playing 2LD with Faulk 2RD and TvR and Fleury on the 3rd pair
