how does trading Rust for a bust make the team better?

How long do you judge Guddy for his play on another team and ignore what he did for the penguins. I mean at that rate we should have traded Schultz out a long time ago.

None of this makes the team better. You have 2 LHD playing on the 3rd line, neither one of which is capable of backhanding a cross ice pass. Gardiner has back issues. JP has never earned the right to be on the 2nd line on this team, but you just hand it to him so he can flame out here like he did in edmonton making demands and not listening to anyone. They can keep that head ache.

He's not wrong. Adding Tanev to trade Rust makes no sense. Gudbranson played well enough to deter giving up assets just to offload. The only thing you didn't get wrong was the JJ trade, which no Penguins fan is going to argue with. I'd rather have the chance of signing Schultz next year than sign Gardiner this year.

I can't wait for something to happen with Puljujarvi so that people stop trading for Puljujarvi. You could throw a dart at a list of WBS forwards and that guy would be a better option than Puljujarvi.
