Kreider, Smith, and Namestnikov would've gone at the trade deadline in this scenario; Strome goes sometime before the draft.

Edmundson would be a pure stopgap for the young guys; once Miller signs and/or Rykov and Hajek are ready for larger workloads, he should be dealt for a pick.

Is that Schenn contract too much, too little, or just right?

Lmao NYR would be paying around $13M bucks for players that don't even play for them...

Take out Senyshyn and Day and maybe it's a little more even? The idea was to buy low on Senyshyn in case BOS would start to see him as a throw-in.

What pick would Strome fetch, would you say?

I think that considering Strome was traded for Spooner I'd say his pick value is not very high.
The value in Strome is if the other team views him as a center they want to "build' around in a 3rd or perhaps 2nd line center spot. Since he is a RFA he does have value.
The issue as I see it is his cap hit as the number of teams that can take on the salary AND can use Strome are limited.
Perhaps package him as part of a pick swap as NY has 3 7th rounders.

Boston isn't to that point on Seny. They knew when they drafted him that he was going to be a project. Also, why do you keep trading Lauko?

I love Lauko, personally. Super high on him; if I was a real GM, I'd call BOS on him right away.

And I can't see Boston moving him. Rumor was they had a first round grade on him.

Believe it or not Schenn is about 25th in goals and points by a C in the last 3 years. He does this while also being able to play the wing and being tough. Signing as a UFA in the heart of his prime next summer I see him getting 8+. He should get as much as Duchenne got

He's significantly better than Hayes who just got 7 somehow

That part did not age well. But it's not your fault; I don't think anyone expected Strome to be doing this well.
