I'm not high on JEE, and given how Backes's contract is even more toxic, I felt that MIN could recoup some decent prospects in a deal like this.

With Valimaki done for a long time, this might work for CGY so that they don't have to sign MacDonald.

VGK might not be done shedding cap; if they indeed aren't, might as well buy low on Marchessault. Shift him back to C and MIN might just be relevant again this year!

Flames trying to find cap space to sign Tkachuk, looking to trade away a d man as it is. Doubt they want one.
