Lol no, Risto is a number 4 d man that can't actually play defense, and and Kase could easily score 30 goals this year imo... And is better defensively than Risto, and on a steal of a contract... Conclusion, Kase>>>>>>Risto.... You're undervaluing Kase, he's not undervaluing Risto

Ah the classic claim that he can't play defense, you've clearly never watched risto play, only take people word. Kase is very good, but Risto has more value

I've watched him play a bit, also if you look at any defensive stat (yes, even ones that aren't affected by the team) Risto is just terrible, also you probably haven't watched Kase I'm going to assume, there's an argument that he was the ducks best F last year when healthy, and stats actually back that up

Stats don't show everything you have to watch risto play to understand he's not terrible, he's completely undervalued and is a scapegoat for a team that was just all around defensively terrible (which isn't helped by goaltending that lets in tons of weak goals) I watch Kase play a lot and he's actually one of my favorite players, but as it stands right now, Risto has more value

So, I think Kase is a good player, but he has done nothing in the league to show he has more value then Risto. He is has potential to score 30 but has never he even averaged 30 goals. He has never been healthy enough to play 82 games. Meanwhile, Risot has been healthy, consistently put up big point totals while being paired with below average dman (scandella), and is on good contract.

Also, sheary should get a 3rd round pick himself.

Let's be clear here, Kase (RW) has 73 career pts, Ristolainen (RHD) has 4 consecutive 40 pt seasons and Kase is only one year younger than Ristolainen.
Ristolainen was needlessly rushed to the NHL, plays nearly half of the game, has only 46% oz starts, plays a physical game and faces the other teams top lines.
I agree Kase is a two way player and may have the ability to score more than 20 goals next year.
I would never presume to Sheary is equal to Kase, but go to https://public.tableau.com/profile/christopher.turtoro#!/vizhome/2-yearA3ZPlayerComps/ComparisonDashboard and https://evolving-hockey.com/ and I think you will be surprised.
I would not make this trade as a Sabre fan. I would not want to lose Sheary and Ristolainen for the small upgrade that Kase would provide, even if the 2nd was the 39th OA.

saying sheary is even remotely close to Kase is just laughable, plus Kase had a top 10ish p1/60 last year...

LOL, what a laugh, did you actually read what i wrote? "I would never presume to Sheary is equal to Kase"
Did you read "upgrade that Kase would provide"
Did you actually go to the 2 sites I posted?
So where did I say Sheary is close to Kase, your comment shows your bias, as you fail to comprehend what is actually said.
Finally, Kase p1/60 was 74th in the league, while very good (good 2nd line winger status), not top 10ish. This is the obvious evidence that you are overvaluing Kase.

yes, i did, you said Kase would only be a "small upgrade over Sheary" and i said that they arent even remotely comparable, that Kase is so much better, no i didnt click on the links, but ik the first one leads to the a3z player comp tool, which while somewhat useful only takes into consideration less than 1/2 a players games in most cases, sometimes even less, and im on evolving hockey all the time, i cant imagine sheary's RAPM chart is that good, maybe it is, but ik Kase's is quite good, also the list i saw on Kase's p1/60 had him above guys like Pasternak, and just behind Matthews, that might have been wrong though, and if you're going to look at advanced stats, look at Risto's, solid negatives in both corsi and fenwick (though they are very flawed stats that i dont like to use all that much) and a -8 E+/-, and look at Risto vs Kase ev on Evolving hockey, Kase blows him out of the water in every stat, and even Sheary's, while better than Risto's isnt that good... Plus i watched Sheary in PIT and when he wasnt playing with Crosby he was the worst player on the ice, no defense, no drive, no physicality, now he could have changed with the sabres, but thats somewhat unlikely... he was a purely offensive skill guy that didnt have the skill to cut it in a decent team's top 6/9
