Holy F im not a big Risto guy at all but id be pissed if we did this that is an extreme overpayment especially bc 55 actually has shown improvement so far this year in a small sample size....honestly Ehlers for Risto straight up is looking like a pretty fair deal that makes sense for both sides....

sure Ehlers is a better overall player than Risto but the fact Risto plays a far more important position while Buffalo has very good depth at D and Winnipeg has arguably the worst defense in the NHL at the moment makes it more likely that WPG would actually have to overpay not Buffalo

Sabres have leverage in a deal like this

Not an overpay at all imo, Ehlers is much better than Risto (not the point of this post, and you're not going to change my mind that Ehlers is the Jets most valuable winger) and you're only trading down roughly 20-25 spots (BUF next year will probably be 20-25 and WPG this year will probably be 40-50) and you're trading up a year into a better draft, and the only other asset you're giving up is Pilut... Unless I'm confusing him with someone else, isn't his ceiling basically a bottom pairing d man...

I'm just gonna say come on...this is not close, Risto has improved and is worth Ehlers

i think pilut had top 4 potential its just if he achieves it or not.
