Lol. Don’t overreact when people disagree with you... makes you look dumb.

Try a 2020 1st, Foudy and a 2021 1st if Hall resigns in CBJ. That could end up being 3 1st round picks for Hall. Not a bad trade for either side.

its not about disagreeing, the first few comments were disagreements and perfectly fine. The difference is some are dialogue and some are trolls

i created the post looking to discuss what a potential hockey trade could be, if the value is off thats fine, what changes. a team that needs offense and a team that needs defense, roster players.

While i think you're exaggerating a bit when you say they laugh at the offer, i appreciate you believe this looks more like duchene. I disagree but i see your rationale. My counter would be duchene has never been viewed as a caliber of player that hall is. in any case, still no issue there, my issue lies in people who state opinions as fact.

Even that is way more than Stone cost Vegas.

And people say that’s not fair...

Duchene isn’t as skilled as Hall but he was also a center so he has close to the same amount of trade value. Jones is a cost controlled top pair RHD on a very friendly contract, this his value is more then Hall who will be asking for 11+ next season.

I also don’t think Columbus is in a position to make any big moves like this right now. Maybe if we’re still close at the trade deadline, but then it would be for futures so NJD can rebuild around Hischier and Hughes and Columbus can go for it. If Columbus is to go for it Jones will have to be at the front of the team, not being traded. That’s why they laugh, because they aren’t moving Jones unless it’s for for someone like Hughes, then it’s complete rebuild in Columbus.

first of all i expect hall to stay with nj, this isnt about expectation this is about finding better fits than the trades ive seen for pieces i dont like from calgary and edmonton. Unfortunately agm's get very defensive and mad when you propose a trade that is off. If you see above I asked how far off? a constructive response would be jones probably isnt the right fit, try werenski. Or devils need to include ty smith and possibly bratt based on value.

Contrary to popular belief gm's dont just laugh on the phone and hang up.

Say what you want hall is an mvp and an mvp caliber player, hes top 5 at driving play. from the backend is jones top 5? I think so but maybe top 10 to be sure? same goes for hall. age - sure theres merit to that convo, price, sure hall is ufa and jones isnt yet. moral of the story is vatanen and hall make columbus better than having jones and anderson. Maybe anderson is a key piece of the core to, perhaps theres another expendable forward. Maybe its just jones for hall and vatanen. If you think that the gm is hanging up the phone on that offer youre an idiot

I'm just saying as good as Hall is he woukd never yield that kind of return. We all agree Hall for Larsson 1 for 1 was ridiculous. However, that doesn't mean he can yield a ridiculous return back which that is what this deal represents. Jones is a legit number 1 defenseman and has more value than Hall right now and if Hall wants 10 plus mil, Jones will have more value even with an extension.. Adding Josh Anderson who is a legit top 6 power forward, and a Devils defenseman who may be their 5th best defensemen all points to no chance this happens.

i agree, we also thought mtl wouldn't trade subban - again im not saying lock it in, I want hall to stay, but in terms of give and get i think this makes more sense than the 85 draft picks 3 prospects and 12 conditions ive been seeing.

moral of the story is, swap out jones for werenski, in any case im talking about a hockey trade where one team needs a legitimate defenseman and one needs an mvp caliber play driver

theres only a couple teams that have the players, needs, and cap space, columbus is one of them

There's a big difference between Jones, Werenski and Subban. There's a reason he's been moved twice and it's not hockey related. So as much as I like moral stories, Subban being moved doesn't apply. The other thing not taken into account is Columbus's willingness to trade Jones. He is a Norris calibur player scratching his surface. It would be beyond shocking if he was moved

you know what would be a good trade for all the agm's here.

Why dont the devils sign hall to an 8 year 100 million extension, retain half of it.

Trade hughes, hall and hischier for texier and a 7th round pick. Hows that, you think he picks up the phone yet? Or should we include butcher?

Ah yes, overreact when someone presents a logical argument against your point...good job.

Show me a trade that's anywhere close to what you're doing here, and I'll acknowledge it.

You've traded two expiring contracts for 2 excellent contracts. The skill level changing hands is close, but the deals aren't. This isn't the EA Sports NHL 20 thread.

Stone: Top prospect (Branstrom)+Non prospect (Lindberg)+2nd. That's a 1st, 2nd, C- Propsect. Could they have gotten more? Probably. Could they have acquired Jones+Anderson if they threw in a 4th dman? That's a pretty solid no.
