Don't know much about Wilkie, but this seems like a solid deal for both sides.
Sens have the "good problem" of being too deep in the AHL at forward. This move clears a spot for someone like Davidsson to play higher in the lineup.
They also clear out a contract, getting down to 48/50 which they were reportedly concerned about.
On Florida's end, they're getting a really solid AHL player, who can pull spot duty in the NHL in a pinch. He's a hard working meat and potatoes guy, and was a respected leader in Belleville.
