I think the lowest chance besides Minnesota,Ott,Det or any other 100% non-playoffs teams that Taylor Hill will get traded is
. We just don't have the cap space in the future, so the only way this would work if we sign Hall to a 6-8 year extension after the trade without NTC and NMC and we trade him in the offseason for like 1st round pick + solid young defender + some smalller picks or similar package.
I'm not sure if Hall agrees to put his faith in the Tampa organization for his next destination. I think he demands NMC/NTC, but who knows, maybe for him a real shot to win the cup might worth the risk.(that he gets traded to a bad team after this season ends, as i see 0% chance we can keep another 10 million $ contract player on the roster in 2020/2021)
Otherwise we just lose this trade badly, and that's not what our GM does. Remember last year: WE DID NOTHING at TDL. If we do a trade this season, it has to be a good one on short and long run.
If we lose a trade like this and we don't win the cup, it's a disaster, and i think we still might lose in the playoffs with Hall.
Also you have to remove Gourde from the trade, since he says in 1 millsecond, when he hears
: No thanks...
Oh yeah if you remove Gourde, we don't have the cap space. So this trade just never works. Also we don't really need to trade for a guy like Coleman.
Vatanen is alright, i don't really know if he is playoff top tier shutdown caliber defender though... we might need one of those...
But i also wouldn't break up the Kill-Cir-Joseph shutdown combo line, they are just too valueable for us right now, especially, if we want to play playoffs hockey style games...i think joseph will be cheap to resign anyways...
TLDR:
What if we only get Vatanen from NJ for much cheaper(2nd round pick + some smaller stuff) for a rental, that might work
