i can live with the price but Brodin will struggle in our system same as Alzner did.

some players are built to play in a speed based system like Claude's built
you dont got to be fast as Weber and Chariot show . you just got to play well positionally and close the gap .
Brodin's a player that seems more comfortable on a team that full of guys with size who can hit and block shots.
15/21 established regulars are 6' to 6'6 allowing Brodin to avoid battling much .

but MTL is a team full of small guys so Brodin will be expected to play a more physical role if he doesnt want to be scratched for a Kulak or Reilly .(and Claude dod it regular already)

Have you seen the Wild's blueline? rofl

Dumba is the only top 4 defenseman they have who throws hits. They rely almost entirely on their bottom pair for physical play. They're hardly "full of guys who throw hits".

Why? Is their prospect pool too deep? Are they contenders willing to add some veterans to go all the way? LoL

Montreal is not interested. We aren't looking to trade a good prospect and a great pick for a #4 defensemen. I imagine Minnesota is going to buy at the deadline.

Yep you hit her on the nose, wild are just to good for the players offered. Lol
Brodin is to good to give up for 2 b prospects and a 2nd. Ideally if you give up a good player you like some kind of assurance that what you get back will be a quality player, not a maybe alright player.

After looking at Ylönen a little bit, I've reconsidered my opinion on him he is a better prospect than I thought so maybe this works if you drop Evans out of the deal and put b level D in the deal.

You clearly never watch the Wild. Wild ate too slow to get into the playoffs. Bruce is a amazing coach, that's why Wild aren't the 3rd worst team in the league.
Now that injuries are taking out our already thin Center group, wins will be even harder to come by.
Also I think you really don't know Brodin's game. Suter never gets injured because he will lose his number 1 position to Brodin on the left side if he did. Brodin is actually a really good player maybe just watch him.

I did the post and I would hate to trade Ylonen, but with Gallagher Caufield Suzuki he might be sacrifice... Ylonen is not quantity but quality, that’s why every habs fan are saying no

While I don't agree with it, I think Minnesota doesn't want to commit to a rebuild and thinks they can still win. They are 1 point out of a playoff spot.

The problem is the owner, he just can't except that Wild are old and not that talented. So a rebuild is needed. I think with all the injuries that are piling up even Bruce can't continue to win with this team. Eventually the Wild will have no choice.

As the owner he gets final say. He wants to win, so I think they will buy, which they will regret.

You talk like if scouting didn't exist and recrutement didn't matters...

With your flawed logic, everything short of an equivalent player wouldn't be enough, even a first round pick.

That's a good illustration of everything that is wrong with MIN. Priorising short term fixes with veterans instead of rebuilding by selling them for young assets and futures.

Tldr: It's not because you don't recognize Ylonen, Evans and CHI 2nd potential that it doesn't have any value.

Evan's isn't going to be anything more than a call up for injuries. So I see his name and I puke at the thought of trading Brodin and having him to show for it. The 2nd and Ylonen are good pieces as I mentioned later after I looked at it closer. I think it's a deal if montreal includes a young defenseman, I'm thinking josh brook, but the habs have a few good ones to choose from, I also understand if brook is included the draft pick probably becomes a 4rd.

Not sure If I agree that he won't be anything more than a call-up option. He's shown great defensive ability everywhere he has played. I imagine one day he's playing 4th line with top PK time.

Also, Montreal isn't giving you Josh Brook for Jonas Brodin

You are really talking about best case scenario with Evans.
If brook is to give up what D prospect are you willing to part with?

I like juulsen if he could stay healthy.
So Brodin for Juulsen, Ylonen, and 4th I like that.
