@Laudan so just wondering where you would like to see the other moves made. My idea would be to leave kerfoot exposed in the draft. The following season engvall moves to centre with either Korshkov or Moore on LW.

I dont think mikheyev will make that much and I can see dubas trying to lock up dermott to a long term contract. If he way able to sign him to a 6y×4m (similar to sam girard) then that would be a steal. I would also think nash's would want a defenseman in return but I dont really know. Dubas will want nothing to do with Austin watson, hes a terrible person. I do like the rest tho

Ellis is good but his contract is risky. I really don't think moving out young players with a lot of potential to get guys who's likely have a decline coming in the near future isn't wise. The number of NHL defenceman over the age of 31 has dropped every year over the past decade. Unless you are moving for a guy who's 25 or so, moving a young guy for a long term anchor contract just causes more trouble than its worth. Sandin, Liljegren and Dermott are all going to be more valuable in the coming years, they are going to get better while any defenceman aged 29 or older with long term contracts, we can safely assume will not live up to big contracts. Spurgeon and Ellis are going to be problem contracts. We know this by now. For every Burns, Weber or Giradano, there are dozens of defenceman who tail off badly after 30. But why bother learning from the past and present when we can make the same mistake most others do.

Nashville Trade has more on it from a previous thread. The idea is that Nashville signs Barrie.

The Ellis contract is not horrible. I think the last 2 seasons of the contract he may underperform the money but by that time the 6.25m will not be that huge of a %. It could also be moved out.

If Ellis were making 8-11m like some bad contracts out there I would agree.

I went with this some days ago :

https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/edit/1535372

Leaves 2M for #3C center like Eriksson-Ek or some guy similar. Kerfoot is winger, hes trying hard and not doing bad job but still.....hes 40+ Points as winger, he will proly end at 25 as C cause it demands a lot more of work and talent toplay the crutial role in your Line. D is much more in the need to fix then 40 Points C for 4M.

For Expansion Draft, i think it will be Kapanen....

Kapanen is not on this team... and I can’t view yours. You need to publish it.

You think Woll is ready next year? Come on.
Also think you overpaid Mikheyev and Holl.

Ok, i just figured you are asking about current roster you have :

you lost 3rd Line depth, which i think should be fielded for 2019/2020 already, so Johnsson - Kerfoot - Kapanen, and 4th Line with Mikheyev - Spezza - Engvall ( or reverse the wingers, also Timashov - Engvall - Mikheyev ). Why ? Cause you already have 2 stars in each of first two Lines and all you need to do is attach them one grinder on the wing. Johnsson there is waste of depth for me, cause Moore would do as much there with Matthews - Nylander. That would give TML tremendous advantage over other 3rd and 4th Lines, so while first two would match tougher competition and rolling on their talent to score, 3rd and 4th lines should be the Game winners.

I would kill for Ellis but at 6M+ he allows you what i mentioned in your other thread....you are doomed to Kaberle - McCabe only as a playoff level Pair, cause Cap doesnt allow you to bring in more and better. Dubarelli amassed a good capital for trading with Barrie and Kerfoot, even Ceci, so those guys shoud be involved in trades.

Woll wont be ready as far as i watched those three games he was between the pipes.

Are you suggesting we put lesser talent on the LW of the top 2 lines to load up the 4th line? Would this plan also come with the Baby's ideal of not playing the best players as much as they should for the sole purpose of rolling 4 lines?
