Rental Holtby isn't returning all of that, especially with the numbers he has this season.

You might be able to get that return for Samsonov though.

I intentionally made it an overpayment cuz im sure quite a few teams would also be trying to get him even if hes just a rental.

Can't see Montreal being interested in Djoos, but that's the ideal value for Kovalchuk.

MTL could trade Scandella half retained and give a shot at Djoos

This might be a cookie cutter response by me but Holtby is a very very good playoff goalie. Management would not trade him UNLESS the team fell out of playoff position. They don't know how Sam would handle an entire playoff workload yet ( I know you brought in Bernier on this AGM), and in that sense I don't think they would trade off a known (Holtby) for an unknown (Bernier) commodity. Plus, I just can't see the Caps 'doin' him like that'. Holtz is loved in the room and the organization and I don't think the rest of the team would be happy at all with getting rid of him like that. Morale would definitely suffer I think.

Can Scandella play the right side? It's where the Caps need the upgrade and they already have a boatload of lefties down on the farm.

No the only right handed MTL could trade is Jeff Petry but he’ll cost a lot

Disagree. Chiasson is nothing special, Puljujarvi is NOT NHL level, 2nd, 7th (nothing). So a 3rd liner and a 2nd is too much for a solid starting goalie?

JP holds a good value, so JP 2nd round pick and Chiasson it’s an ok trade but doubts Caps accept this offer. But it’s not way off

He changed it since I posted. There used to be Edmonton's 1st round pick going to Washington also.

Yeah, during this years playoffs, Panik would be there in place of Pulju, but Panik is just an eyesore for this team at this point imo lol

Yeah, i agree with everything you said, i want Holtby to stay, this is just kinda what i thought of, if he does get moved. (Again, extremely unlikely imo)

Actually good thinking in getting a veteran goalie for next year to play with Sammy though. I don't know if the Caps would want to spend 3 million on someone who will be splitting time though...
