Signing Kassian and Gudas would give you a good chance to lead the league in attempted murders/60

Face reality -- you won't make the playoffs this year and even if you did, I don't think this squad would go very far, so I don't agree with a strategy that has you trading away four young players to acquire two old ones. Neal will be 33 when next season starts and Malkin is already that old.

I dont think Kassian is about to leave Edmonton hes playing with 2 of the best players in the league. Also Detroit doesn't need another goalie

Ya Risto has a ton of trade value. He's been on the market for two years, and the GM cant find a partner. Neal is on pace for 30 goals this year. Who are you getting that is better for salary in, salary out. I love the people on this page who value players who have contributed to the Sabres being the worst franchise in the NHL the past ten years

Neal is a product of who he plays with and not much more, there is an immense risk of his production falling off. RIsto has been the sabres #1 defensemen for a while and for 3 different coaches. He has a lot of value and he's been off the trade market for a while now. His value was lower this summer which was why he wasn't moved, and this season he's done nothing but show his value

it is s decent core, there's just not much around it on the offensive side... Just because a team is at the bottom for a lot of the past recent years doesn't mean that ALL of their players are bad

True, but who else can you trade to rebuild? They dont have any pieces. Reinhart and Risto are the only trade options if you want change unless you get into Eichel and Dahlin which i dont thinkl anyone wants to do

I'd come back and say quit drinking the 151 with some of these trades.

Picks can be traded as well as a defenseman, definitely don't need to trade your best players to get the depth needed. or the other option is to just wait until out prospect pan out (Cozens, Samulsson, UPL, Mitts (maybe), Thompson). We have decent pieces and it's only a matter of time before we start to contend. There's no real reason to panic
