That's a bit much but you are correct in suggesting this is bad. Dubas has made it known that Kapanen isn't getting traded unless it makes the Leafs much better.

Teravainen is an 80 point winger, this is NOT The same. Kapanen is not the same calibre. That being said, this is not a good trade for Toronto

Kapanen has one of the best 5on5 pts per 60 in the league. Not saying he's an 80 point winger, but that stats suggest if he's given a bigger role and more ice time that he'll produce more. Just like Teräväinen did when he got traded. And Holl is very similar to TVR

Holl is better but Turbo is worth a lot more than Kapanen. You made the point but a lesser example would have sufficed

TVR is better defensively than Holl, he has a much lower xGA/60. Also, saying KK is one of the better 5v5 producers is a lie. His totals aren't that impressive to begin with, and his xGF/60 isn't impressive. It's what you'd expect for a middle six winger.

I'd want to see it happen for no other reason than to watch a line of Dzingel-Necas-Kapanen. Just watch them fly.

He was only tried in the top 6 on his off side. Some guys don't adjust well to it their off wing. But he's proven time and time again that he's more than capable on the right side. But since he's a Leaf everyone says he's overrated. Just like they did to Nylander. And Marner. And Matthews. And every other Leaf just cause of the team they play on.

Hes been given time on the right side on those Matthews/Tavares wings as well. Hes consistently shown hes a 50ish point winger regardless of who hes playing with. Hes not undervalued like Nylander, hes overvalued by Toronto's homer fans. Kapanen is a middle 6 winger who can put time in on the PK. Hes not going to evolve into much more than that, hes not going to get a top 4 defenseman, etc.
