For people wondering why Lehkonen is here is because Bergevin value Lehkonen as a 1st round pick and I doubt a team trade their 1st for Lehkonen

yeah i dont expect him to wise up
a lost cause is a lost cause

he expects the best defensive player who's also double shifting to take faceoffs for Domi to also score goals .

Given his job is to basically be a 3rd D as our D cycle in and attack in the OZ it tells me this Jamoke hasnt watched a single habs game nor does he understand our system .

as original as your name
i dont trust people without an original thought who just borrow from smarter people without understanding the context

i'm not your dad , stop trying to get my approval lmfao

Boy you are something. Nice pivot to insults when you lose the argument. Good night!

you gotta start watching some games or when the Leafs are playing against MTL, focus on Danault, him and Lehkonen are doing no mistakes and are always in good position. Danault in the offensive zone is better than Lehky tho, Danault is underrated

Here's the thing that bothers me with guys like you. You use statistics and advanced metrics (which in general folks have a hard time understanding, and are usually intimidated by them, but will never admit it, so they don't dare oppose them) thinking this somehow validates your own biased point of view.

You're modeling is off. Using 2017-2019 brings up a number of caveats that should be mentioned. It includes the 2017-18 season, Danault was injured, and was considered by everyone (including Habs fans) as a 3C. The numbers back that up. Also, Danault and Gallagher weren't linemates, and Tatar wasn't even with the team. I'm sure you have no issue with this since this helps prove your point.

You want to make an analysis of their individual offensive contributions as linemates, How about you start putting up numbers when they actually played together.

P-hacking at it's finest here.

I'm not saying the others you're debating aren't biased in the complete opposite way. but you're being misleading.

@GMs @Billy739

Ahh those leafs fans sometimes... He probably thinks Johnsson's better. Danault is one of those players that drives the play so well. Gallagher would never have reached 30 goals last year without him. But some people don't know what a defensive forward is and they think Danault, Nelson (Plekanec previously) aren't top 6 centers based on their "offensive advanced stats".

Unfortunately I work with what I'm given. The site is paywalled and I'm not spending money to win internet arguments. This was what I had available. In terms of who he was playing with, it doesn't matter as there are isolated impacts.

While those charts are good, they don't seem to take into account zone deployment or quality of competition. It's just a combining fenwick relative with shot location in an easy to read graphic, from what I can see there's nothing on those charts that can't be figured out by taking a quick glance at some of the more basic 'advanced stats' on a site like hockey reference. Also I think you should be able to get the charts for just this season off hockeyviz, but it's been a few month since I've checked that site.

Why must people such as yourself say such lies without looking it up first? It is an isolated threat RAPM model.

According to the model Danault's offensive threat is +26% this season while Matthews' is +27%, so I was just assuming it was failing to factor in something. If it is taking everything into account then neat, either Danault is having an even better season than it appears, or Matthews is having a pretty bad one.

I haven't seen this years isolated, if you have it please post. Assuming you are correct it is sill more likely to be a career year than he new normal but that would be impressive if it was.

Sadly what I found wasn't the full season, it's a 10 game sample size (doesn't even say what 10, based off the numbers though it might be the players best 10 numbers wise) and the season numbers are paywalled. Sorry, I got overexcited thinking I had found a decent free stats site. Teaches me to rush thing while slacking off at work.
