We've all had the conversation here about a thousand times. Anaheim biggest need right now is on the right side of their back end. When it comes to wingers, the need isn't really there at this point. These two teams don't match up for a trade nearly as much as the media wants to make Leafs fans think. It's weird to me. I get that the Leafs big need right now is a shutdown RD, but you really don't have what Anaheim needs without giving up too much in a trade (Liljegren, which is an overpay and the Leafs shouldn't do it, signed-a Ducks fan), and there's at least 5-10 other teams that do, that wouldn't have to overpay as much. That's not to say "Oh hey, you can get Manson for nothing!", because that's simply not true. But when it comes to the combination of players, prospects or picks that it would involve, the two teams just don't match up. They don't need LD's, they don't have space for wingers, so anything involving Kappy/Johnsson just doesn't make sense.

It's also weird to me to see Leafers dumping Reilly so much here. The guy is a stud when he's healthy (He clearly hasn't been all year). Let him get back to what he's capable of, and all of the sudden you've got a bargain on the left side again.

Rielly is an elite #1 defenceman, whether the mob of silly fans that make up this website want to admit it or not. He is by far the most valuable asset In the trade. The hope of any first round pick is elite talent but there are Busts. Rielly is hands down an elite talent that would hope a pick turns into.

Alright that's fair statement, but what are the chances of the this Top 10 pick stepping into the Leafs lineup at the start of next season and instantly improving the Leafs with out Rielly and Kapenen? My Percentage changes is like 5% chance. This is a foolish trade, to be completely honest there better options for Defensive RHD that can be had for free on July 1st than Josh Manson

Top 10 will almost all be ready next year, obv he won't be a Rielly tho, but value wise there's no way ANA does this, there's also almost no way TOR does this either tho

It's a pointless trade that helps no one, Rielly is pretty untouchable at the moment, 2 years down the road he probably is no longer untouchable and might actually be shopped depending on what term and AAV he'll deservingly get
