Lafrenière seems very unlikely for the Hawks. They're too good for a high pick, but not quite good enough for the playoffs. Tough spot to be in.

If they win the lottery it'll be like when they drafted Toews and Kane

Don't see why Seabrook would retire. He's still making 6.875 mill for the next 4 years. If he retires he doesn't earn that money. If he doesn't play he'll go on LTIR and be through with the contract until bought out if the contract allows him to. These athletes have families to provide too. Zetterberg hasn't retired yet and still has a cap it of a little over 6 million for th next few years.

He'll go on LTIR just like Zetterberg, Hossa, Horton, etc. Thats probably what he meant by "retiring"

Strome isn't getting that much especially for 4 years. William Karlsson, a better player, got $5.9M for 8 years...Strome is easily $750K off of that and for a bridge type of deal less. $5.25M x 7 to 8 years or $4.25M to $4.5M for 3 or 4 years.

Kubalik hopefully stays between $2.5M and $3M on a 2 year but in reality he could be as much as $4M on a 3 or 4 year.

Lenher will be $6.5M minimum and at his age is going for longer term. I put him at $7.5M for 5 years.

The hawks are the new Minnesota wild. Decent enough that they never make it to the big dance, but ****ty and incompetent enough to refuse to rebuild and tank.
