The first trade doesn't work bc you're getting an unconditional first from a fringe playoff team for a rental, an the second one doesn't work bc both teams think they're "bust" has a ton of value bc he was a high pick, but refuse to apply that logic to the other teams "bust" and just call him a bust

I think the second trade works.

I don't think either Anderson nor Pool party are busts yet. There are plenty of teams with players in that draft as their top prospect

josh anderson is worth the gamble. he had an injury that messed up his season. this would be an overpayment for columbus but if the rangers added a little something to it to make it worth this trade would work out amazing for the rangers. his worth the risk.

Columbus isn’t trading their 2020 1st without some kind of protection and having a top 6 center coming back. Kreider is a wing, Columbus doesn’t need wings.

What world do you live in where rentals dont get firsts?

Rangers turn down both.

1st one because of Anderson's cap situation (he needs to be resigned)
2nd one because it's not remotely enough...

I think the emphasis was more on the fringe playoff team part. If they were a true contender (which with Merzlikins playing the way he is I think they are) they would definitely give the 1st knowing they arent in the lottery.

Uhhh Zucc, Nyquist, Dzingle all didn't, (and were all having much better seasons than Kreider is) and Hayes who did was traded to a team that was solidly in the playoffs and desperate, Columbus isn't either of those things

Now that's just ignorant or uninformed... Kreider has been on a month long tear and is having great season. Zucc?? Maybe , Dzingle/ Nyquist not even close to player Kreider is.... IF Columbus acquired Kreider have to think they would resign him. Columbus is also dealing from a shorter stack of picks...
You dont think that young #1 center wouldnt want Kreider on his wing? Think again.

Ok yeah Dzingle isn't as good, but literally what are you trying to say here (1month!=season... Recency bias tho)

So wouldn't that mean they're less likely to give up a first... Also 2020 draft class>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2019, so what got a first last year, probably doesn't this year, especially in Columbus' where there's a good chance it's a lottery pick and in this trade it's completely unprotected!!!

Ok AFOX.... last time... fewer picks to offer other teams as well.... duh.

Please stop comparing Dzingle to Kreider... while a nice depth scoring winger ... absolutely nothing special about him. He smaller, slower and much less of a game factor than Kreider is when off.
Honestly two different players and skill sets. With one head and shoulders better than the other.

this thread is funny on the kreider doubters. his point production in his career might not be high end but gm's around the league know what kind of player he is. i've been hearing this since last season that kreider isn't going to bring back a 1st. there is no doubt he brings back a 1st. the question is how much more will the rangers get after the 1st?
