I can only imagine how an Anheim fan is going to respond to this trade as nothing is ever enough to acquire Josh Manson who is the second comming of Scott Stevens in most Ducks fans eyes.

Seems reasonable. This is the typical offer from leafs fans. Usually Johnsson rather than kappy due to the fact they have so many rhw’s. But this is reasonable as well.

It’s amazing that leaf fans still don’t understand that Manson isn’t on the block and that ANA “loves him more than you love your wife” and yet there’s still the same packages being used to acquire a player that won’t get traded. Stop posting Manson trades.

I think where there is smoke there is fire and the trade rumours are not going away so I really think the Ducks are listening to offers for Manson.

A fringe top 6 forward a cap dump a guy that will never break the NHL and a second isnt enough for the Ducks to move a great leader and the only competent NHL RD on their roster

Listening to offers is different than shopping him. Every team should listen on every player player in case someone decides to overpay.

I agree with you and maybe the Ducks are planning to take the chance with him that they can resign him when he becomes a UFA. I really like him and think he would be a perfect fit to play the right hand defence position with Morgan Rielly.

I think they'd be nuts not to think about it. They're going to be competitive in 3-5 years. Will Manson be there, and how good will he be, when that happens? Doesn't it make more sense to move him for assets who can contribute when that happens. The Leafs traded Phil Kessel even though they loved him, because the first round pick and prospect they got (Kapanen) are helping them now that they are in their competitive window. The Rangers have traded guys like McDonaugh and Zuccarello. It might not be at the deadline, but I have to imagine in 12 months from now Manson is not a Duck. Whether or not the fans like the return is one thing, but him and Rakell are your most valuable assets so you should absolutely be looking to get as much as possible for them right now.

I'm not saying this trade is enough, or even that Toronto is the place to send him, but you have to think moving him makes more sense then keeping him right?

Assets that fill holes not add to an already over loaded fwd corps. Hence the reason duck fans want Liljegren in any Manson trade to TOR.

Once again, I very clearly said that trade was not enough and probably wasn't the framework. I think you kind of missed the point. Duck fans can want whatever they want, but Toronto needs Liljegren's ELC production on their team for next year. He's even more valuable for that reason, so if the Leafs have to choose between him (plus) and Manson, they probably choose him. Just a thought.

I get it's frustrating to see Leaf fans with no clue making the same ****ty trade for Manson every day, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good idea. I think a three-way deal with a prospect Anaheim likes more probably works better for everyone, but those are tougher to pull off at deadline time due to salary cap restrictions.
