Description
Chris Johnston said on NHL Network today that the Pens are interested in reacquiring Conor Sheary for forward depth. I also need this in my life because it’ll send yinzers into a rabid frenzy of rage for absolutely no reason.

Why on Earth would anyone not be enraged with the penguins getting a player who has proven he can score 20 goals on Crosby or Malkin's line. That's such a ridiculous idea.

You obviously haven’t looked at Penguins twitter since the back to back cups my friend. Some of the takes are absolutely horrid.

I agree. For a 4th round pick or 5th round pick I have no issue. Like you said, he’s proven he could have some success here and he’s a pending UFA. Virtually no risk

Theres no room for him. He is not missed and does not provide an upgrade over anyone

He’d be a filler guy until Bjugstad and ZAR come back and will likely move into the 13th F role. I think it’s not the craziest idea.

Insurance due to injury. Like I said, for a mid/late round pick it’s not a bad route to go.

I agree! Don’t understand all the hate towards sheary! He was excellent during the 16/17 season. I believe he lead the leauge in 5V5 P/60 Even strength. That’s no small accomplishment!

Its not a crazy idea. I just dont see the need for him. If they did trade for him, it wouldn't be bad (if they gave up late round picks), but theres no room for him when healthy. Even the AHL guys playing for the injured starters are stepping up

Either do I...but I just see him as a more viable option to come in during the playoffs than lafferty or an AHL guy. Plus they could swing having a winger as their 13th F because of McCann’s versatility to switch from winger to center.

Either way, Im laughing at the people saying pens lost the Zucker trade lmao. 3 goals already and paid about the same price as other teams for less talented players in their trades. Another win for JR

The fact that people were mad drove me up a wall. Idk why people are mad about Calen Addison whenever the organization has had countless puck moving D prospects bust over the past decade.

Yup. Even if Addison turns out to be a stud, the team would not be in a win now mode. Zucker provides that now. Huge win. If they were healthy with Guentzel, this team would be even scarier

That’s exactly what I’m thinking a top 6 of Zucker-Crosby-Simon and Guentzel-Malkin-Rust is going to be so incredibly special.

For depth ok. But he isn't a Bjugstad or ZAR replacement. He isn't close to the same type of player.
Get him for a 5th.
Pens should look to add a winger with like ZAR as well. a PK guy who has some physicality.

Johan Larsson or Girgensons make a lot of sense in that case.

agreed. I wouldn't mind seeing the Pens get Jimmy Vesey either. I just think for depth you need bigger players that can skate and forecheck over undersized forwards who at one point had some scoring touch.
