Not sure that Hawks should trade Kirby Dach.

Interested in what @ChiHawk thinks of this deal as he seems to be okay with trading Lehner.

If you ask hawks fans about Saad’s value, I honestly don’t know. From me, yes, it’s a bit of parody mixed with the wondering whether or not they might try to buy a lot to get a few more cups. In no way do I think Saad is worth mcmichael long term obviously.

Fair point, and the caveat I will make to the trade is that it’s predicated on whether hawks will finally full on tank and try to go for quinton byfield. I can’t stand kirby dach and hawks fans on this site know that, however, I LOVE byfield!

McMichael is as untouchable in McLellan's eyes as it gets, and rightfully so. Saad for McM would be an instant hangup.

Rightfully so, kid is sick. The alternative trade I had was Saad with retention for Tyson Jost and either a 1st or 2nd

I dont think the value is off, but with their farm system they definitely dont want to be trading him.

I honestly gotta side with caps fans on this one. Firstly, it is center vs winger, as such, center usually wins. Then, You factor in saad’s recent years vs mcmichael’s development. Mcmichael has looked good, really really good. Saad, on the other hand, is finally showing signs of what he was in Columbus and with the hawks the first time. I understand nothing is guaranteed with mcmichael, but I’d love to have him and see what he becomes, that’s for sure.

Why do you feel that way, particularly with Dach? Cuz I don’t like the kid, I’m just curious what you see.

Ive only watched dach a few times this season, he's looked good but Im not sure I see him as a future 1C. Wahlstrom is the perfect winger for barzal and we haven't had an "ideal" winger to play with Tavares or barzal yet.

honestly I don't know what a deal would look like with sorokin, I'd just hope one of dach, kubalik, or DeBrincat would be coming back. Not in a 1 for 1 obviously.

Yes. But this is potentially three valuable assets for one + rental.

If it were Dach vs Wahlstrom, I'd have to think about it and probably reluctantly side with Dach. But the Sorokin/1st for Lehner is too rich methinks.

Respectfully, wahlstrom is your boy. I’m still so unconvinced by Dach. He, along with Hughes and kakko, are gonna be so badly overshadowed by the rest of their draft class. I’m just so bitter and pissed we took him still, he’s way too one dimensional to me.

This is so true and I hate that about my fellow hawks fans.
