Full Rebuild

Created by: Wadejos123
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 26, 2020
Published: Feb. 26, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
These moves are probably very unpopular and I know it is very unlikley they ever happen but I truly belive going this route and Firing Stan are in the best long term interest of the team. If we did commit to a full on rebuild the core pieces may be willing to waive NMC's to play meaningful hockey.

Keith can get you more than a 2nd rounder... even next season at 37 he'll till be able to play 22 minutes per game, he can still put up 25 pts on a better team than Chicago, can play on the PK a lot while being a great mentor and leader. The guy (if you retain at least 1775 000$) can get you an early to mid 2nd rounder + a B prospect.

We have too many D prospects, no thanks. Plus CHI should keep Mitchell, he'll soon be great

Yeah, that is just odd trading Mitchell given the intent of this AGM

Vancouver has cap issues and taking on two more years of Seabrook over Ericksson only hampers their cap more.

If it was confirmed he could be LTIR though would you do it? It’d free up tons of cap space technically.

This is very true. However, he really is dead set on staying active.

While I do like the ideas in this thread, there are a few trades that I think might inflate some value. For example, the isles trade is costing the isles way too much prospect wise. A 1st, 2nd, Wilde, and one of wahlstrom OR Dobson could happen, just not BOTH wahlstrom and Dobson.

Also, the Vegas trade. Toews might get a 1st and Krebs (MAYBEEEE), but not with Tuch included in my opinion.

Lastly, please don’t trade Ian Mitchell. That’s my next jersey and I need him here long term. Plus, yes, he looks very good.

It’s super hard to judge what Toews is worth because he does the intangibles and isn’t going to score 70 or more points.

Exactly! That’s what sucks about judging a player like toews. Vegas could definitely use a center (which Krebs and glass will be monsters at), but I certainly tend to think they could find cheaper and more affordable ones unfortunately.
