If Krug comes back

Created by: PoorTom
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 27, 2020
Published: Feb. 27, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With Krug signing, the Bruins will protect Krug, McAvoy, and Carlo in the expansion draft. That means they'd likely lose Grz in the expansion draft. Winnipeg needs D, Bruins need a scoring RW.

There was a report that NJ was interested in Kuraly. Lets Frederic move into 4C.

Pretty sure it's going to be Bjork that they're picking...

I think they'll protect Bjork.

I think the contracts are all good, but i can’t make any sense of the trades. They can get a heck of a lot more for grzelcyk, and i don’t think Kuraly is a guy they want to trade. Definitely not for a third round pick at any rate.

Might be hard for them to do that. They already have 7 forwards that they'd probably want to protect before him.

Bergeron/Marchand/Pasta/DeBrusk/Bjork/Coyle/ is 6. Kase maybe the 7th?

The expansion draft will be what it is for most contenders. Swinging a deal to protect an asset.

Yeah depending on the protect list grz or maybe Bjork seem like the Seattle plays. I think moving grz makes sense with the depth they have if Krug is back but I'd do it for picks or prospects obviously you don't have to protect.

^This right here. I wouldn't be surprised if Sweeney offer SEA something extra to avoid certain unprotected players.

That's possible but 2 reasons why I don't think that will happen.

He didn't do it last time and lost a good player.
Multiple reports are that teams will not be making deals with Seattle and will just bite the bullet and lose a player.

Losing Matt Grzelcyk is a pretty different situation than losing Colin Miller, who, by the way, suuuuuucks.

We lost Colin Miller who is hardly a good player lol. He had 1 good season and that's it. The guy is playing for Buffalo and is routinely a healthy scratch.
