I cannot emphasize enough how bad mattias sammuelson and risto would be together. There is also no greater than a 2% chance of mattias making the roster this year or even in the next three years. Hes that bad.

I would have to disagree. He's a decent compliment to risto in that he's a big shutdown dman which this team is lacking. He's become a steady player on the back end in college.

And i think the puck would never get out of the zone. He fits a narrative in hockey such as "shut down d man" because hes tall and doesn't produce offense. He doesn't produce offense because he is consistently in his own zone and cant get the puck to his forwards. The closest thing the sabres have to a "shut down d man" is Dahlin and its not even close.

Not sure what you're looking at or who is feeding you this narrative, but he seems to be settling down his play since world Juniors. Don't be so negative because of our past "shut down" dman.
