First trade favors Philly...

and the CAR deal is lopsided to TOR. If I was Carolina, I'm not trading Aho AND Teuvo for that return.

??? You get one of the best goal scorers in the league for a step down from turbo to Jvr. Canes would be stupid to turn this down.

Petro is free, contracts can be moved to make space. But why would leafs want petro with Rielly to be -100 next season?

Matthews is a top 10 player. Aho and Teravainen aren't even the most valuable players on their team.

Which other contracts can you move to make space for Petro. The idea was take small loss in the trades to make cap room for Petro.

Have a look at league wide goal scoring and tell me how many places there are between Matthews and Aho. The gap is MUCH closer than you think, Aho is EASILY the most valuable player in Carolina. Plus they can't move him because of the offersheet rule

Yeah, Aho plays with Teravainen and Svechnikov. Matthews plays with TAVARES NYLANDER AND MARNER

This is for next year so they could. But okay we'd take Svechnikov instead if you want to keep Aho.

You're not getting any of them. The gap between Aho and Matthews isn't worth TT, and Matthews isn't worth Svech flat out.

According to HockeyViz, he plays with a mix of Nylander and Marner, and often Tavares when Toronto need a goal. That means.... well done inflated totals. Am I saying he's bad or a product? HELL NO. Am I saying that using points is a bad indicator? Ya

In what world is Aho more valuable than Svech. You just can't admit you're wrong. I'd take Svech in a heartbeat.

Let's just agree to disagree so I don't have to continue arguing with someone who refuses to acknowledge that they might be incorrect and have made a bad proposal

Speaking from an analytical perspective, Svech is better, younger, on an ELC and is capable of scoring from literally anywhere. That's not homerism, that's just using facts, you should try that in Canada

One is a projected Hall of Famer the other is not, one will likely win multiple Rocket Richard trophies in his career one will not, one will likely compete every year for the Art Ross and Ted Lindsay awards the other will be lucky to have a couple years in that conversation.

Svech will be a star in this league, probably gets over 70 points a season, but Mathews has been and will continue to be a superstar that is over a ppg in his entire career.

Please dont make me compliment Matthew's anymore, I'm a Habs fan and it's making me sick this early in the morning.

Believe me when I say this left a bitter taste in my mouth, I'm from the Barrie area and watched Svech play in the OHL a lot and am a huge fan of his but I'm also obvious who is the better and more valuable player.

Speaking from an analytical perspective, one has 44 goals and other does not.
