Pietro would definitely make a huge difference for the leafs, but they can't have five players in the 7m to 11m range, plus three in the 5m area. They're going to have to lose some cap somewhere in 2021-2022, and there really are no minor pieces on medium sized contracts to give away anymore.

They were boasting with 83M last year ended 81,5M.....so i would go with 85M max.....

You already moved Kerfoot & Johnsson in your AGM. My point is, in this scenario, you'd need to move Kapanen and replace him with an inferior $1m player the following season in order for this team to stay intact with that core. It could work, but you're banking on 4 amazing forwards and 3 defensemen to run the entire show. Who knows, that might work, but I'd worry about depth.

I haven't thought of one. I haven't looked at the UFA pool either but I suppose UFA options would be too expensive.
