Neither team wants your bad contracts. I rather have Newhook over Weber and Demko over price

When you call a guy with a 0.909 save percentage elite. Your completely ignoring the fact that they are way overpaid and are getting paid in their late 30s

There are lots of UFA goalies on the market. Don't know Vancouver would have to give up so much for a contract they don't want. Just because Price is from BC, doesn't make the the Canuck drooling to acquire him.

Both Vancouver and Colorado say No, Colorado has no use for an aging Shea Weber. And i'm pretty sure that Vancouver would rather have a cheaper Jacob Markstrom then an overpaid Carey Price.

The Canadians just named him Captain, so I doubt Weber get's dealt anywhere. That just looks really bad. Not to the mention that if he's traded, and once he hits his next birthday, there are some serious cap ramifications if he then retires without finishing his current contract. Nashville is already on the hook for a potential cap recapture penalty, as is the case with Montreal.

Colorado has a young core and a #1 RHD in Makar already so Weber does not fit. Avs also have no desire to pick up the tab on Weber's contract.

That said, part of me would be tempted to acquire Weber and entice him to retire early in order to derail Nashville for good lol

Yeah allways the same cra% coming from you!
The Weber trade might even deserve more from COL.
A 50 points, 20 goals #1 D is expensive, you should know by now.
He is having a +8 season on an awfull team
And don't pull the "bad contract territory" again, the guy is definitely worth 8M now, and in 3 years he'll make so little money that he'll retire at no impact for the team for which he plays (apart from NASH).

Your saying I talk crap when all your comments are just saying how "horrible" threads are.
Why does Colorado need another Makar? They already have so many defenseman. Its like Pittsburgh giving you another starting goaltender
I guess you are ignoring the fact that he is 34 years old and has a contract for the next 6 years at 7mil. If I was weber I would want to keep playing a try to win a cup because I can still make money.
Your answers are uneducated don't respond to me cause I don't want to hear them

Uneducated? Don't say that if you have difficulty reading the entirety of a comment on CapFriendly! The next 6 years he will make at a shed under 8M/year, a salary wel justified for now. The key here M. Educated is his real salary. In 2022 he'll only make 3M and the next 3 years 1M/Year. If he doesn't retire by 2022-23 he'll be an easy dump for a team who needs to reach cap + needs leadership.

Price is untradeable.... you would have to retain 5M/yr before even consider any trade.

Price actually sucked last year, a GSAx of -11.00. Based on the quality of shots he faced, he let in 11 more goals than an average goalie would be expected to save.

Price has a reputation as a good goalie, but he hasn't been playing like one. He usually has a terrible month in a season and then by the time he starts playing good it's too late.

You are completely right that right now Weber is worth 8 mil. Now in 3 years he may make only 1-2 mil actual money and thats great, but the cap is still 8 mil and will be for 3 more years, and odds are he won't still be so elite. That creates a problem in signing guys that we really want, need and have a continuing future here, hopefully, like MacK and Byram. Mtl has a tendency lately to acquire bad contracts then try to pawn them off on other teams under the guise of "they're elite players." Hate to point this out but no one but MTL and team Canada fans are going to remember Price, he will be a footnote in history like Lugo with out a cup. The guy hasn't put up "elite" numbers in 3 years and has never made it out of the 2nd round. I don't know maybe your elite RHD should be helping out with that. NO PLAYOFF TEAM IS GOING TO COMMIT FINANCIAL/CAP SUICIDE TAKING ON THOSE CONTRACTS. NOT WORTH IT. No one wants to be MTL, where they have locked up space on aging elite to not-so-elite anymore players and can't afford to build a team around them to win (1/4 of the cap space). COL has worked for the last several years to build a playoff window that will remain open for multiple years, your move would half that or more. Good luck with your elite cap disasters.
