I think Bertuzzi is too much considering the Penguins are probably happy to be rid of the contract. The deal is there though, just maybe a piece off.

Wings are not trading Bertuzzi for a backup goalie, ESPECIALLY when the Pens need to trade or lose for nothing. Goalies do not command that kind of return, and Murray who is a RFA and will want a big bump that Pens can not afford is not commanding a return like this.

Murray is closer to an above average starter than a backup. I personally think this could be more fair with another piece on the pens side, so this is a bit of a pipe dream. Who do you think the pens could add, or the wings could give up instead? I'd love to hear it from someone who knows more than me. I'm pretty new to this.

Bertuzzi is untouchable. A lot of people don't know that Tyler has been around the Wings organization since uncle Todd was on the team. The Wings love Tyler and that goes all the way up to the owners. I shared season tickets at Joe with a friend and the seats behind us were team seats and Tyler was there a lot. Plus this season with Mantha out and AA not performing he stepped up big time and for a while was leading the team in scoring.

Larkin, Bertuzzi, Hronek, Mantha, Sieder and Zadina are probably untouchable as they are building blocks for the future. Rasmussen or Fabbri are two who come to mind but they are really only two players that could be expendable.

I agree with that. I look at it like this untouchable players are players that are playing for their respective NHL team. High draft picks and top prospects that haven't made the team yet don't fall in to that untouchable category if they did teams untouchable lists would be a mile long. Since GMs know there is very little to no chance a team is going to trade a top prospect before he has a chance to make their team. Now here on CapFriendly everybody is fair game. For the most part users here go through rosters and pick players that suit their own needs and propose trades for paying no attention what the other team needs. That is why you see so many trades that don't make sense for either team and trades that are so lopsided all you can really do is just laugh at it.
