The Devils get a lethal top 6 scorer while the Canucks get futures and defense. Do you think New Jersey would be interested in something like this during the summer and is the deal fair?

Why the obsession with trading a lethal top 6 scorer? I mean a 30G, RW/RS is not easy to come by. In fact over the last 3 seasons there are only 8 players that fit that criteria based on G/GP. Of those 8, Boeser ranks 3rd in P/GP behind Pastrnak and Stone. Boeser is a guy you should be building around, not trying to trade away.

I think its about getting valuable ELC assets back because they're going to give Pettersson and Hughes big contracts and Boeser isnt as much of a priority if they re-sign Toffoli, bring up Podkolzin and have Virtanen and/or trade for Anderson from COlumbus

I'd rather gave Boeser over Toffoli

Do u rather have Boeser and no Toffoli? Or do u rather have Toffoli and a bunch of solid assets in a Boeser trade

As a Devils fan I don’t think they should do it. That’s too many assets to give up for a team not ready to compete yet. The ARI pick is likely to slot in at or near #10 in a very deep top 10 in this draft. Would be more inclined to part with the VAN pick.

Give me the 22yr old that has a P/GP over the last 3yrs that puts him around a 65pt winger, who is not even in his prime yet. Meanwhile Toffoli's last 3yrs puts him a 44pts and he'll be 28yr old next season.

yeah but they gave up solid assets for him, looks bad if they dont re-sign him and they cant keep both

So trade the better younger winger because it looks bad if the rental walks? Rentals walk all the time lol.

Most of the teams willing to part with picks and prospects "contenders" aren't going to have the cap to sign him. Most of the teams with the cap to sign he aren't going to give up a picks and prospects.

Devils fan here, I'm accepting that absolutely. Boqvist and the 10 pick are pretty hard to part with but Boeser is an elite goal scoring RW (where we are weak) and at 23 he fits the timeline of our core (Hughes, Hischier, etc.). Perfect shooter on the wing for Hughes

Best way to become competitive is by acquiring good players. Boeser is an established star already, and fits the Devils timeline. I doubt Boqvist or the 10th pick end up being as good as him, and NJ would still have 2 first rounders to work with this year. I'm making this move 100% if I'm NJ's GM.

You’re giving up three crucial pieces to get him though. I’m not saying he’s not great, but Sevo is a bonafide top 4 and our most important existing defenseman on the roster. And who’s to say Boqvist doesn’t turn into a top 6 forward? I don’t think he’ll be as good as Boeser but we’re not talking about a one-for-one here. And the top 10 in the draft this year are top 5 in most drafts. Having the ability to draft one of them and get them on an ELC when we’re ready to compete will be so important. I’m a Boeser fan, but this package going the other way is too much.
