It probably depends on where the spot of the pick is, but yeah I could see them doing that. Other than Askarov, who do you think the Hawks should draft? I like Lundell, but the most he can make it on all forward spots is the 3rd line. Plus their prospects on D are pretty good.

Askarov since goaltending is a big need and he might be available around that spot of the draft. Jack Quinn if they want to surprise since RW could be another need down the road.

No real reason for MN to make that trade, they have plenty of wings and they can pickup a center for cheaper that that.

They have no need for Nylander, but I could see them giving up the Pittsburgh 1st rounder for Strome. Most likely they just sign Galchenyuk to a cheap 1 year deal and give him a try at center before they give up a pick.

If their Lundell why would they trade their first? Minny says hell nah and hangs up
and that Labanc OS would get matched faster than the speed of light

Yeah I think Minnesota would prefer to keep their 1st and trade for someone a little less high-profile with potential to break out with a change of scenery, like Jost or Borgstrom, If Lundell is available at their pick I also think that would be hard to pass up for them. He could be their next Mikko Koivu.

So basically, 1st = Lundell, 2nd +3rd for Jost. There they have their two young C's.

Really? Faster than the speed of light eh lol, LaBanc is a middle 6 winger that puts him about 1 - 1/2 a million overpayed

Has never had a 20 goal season - had 1 56pt season the rest 30-40pt seasons - that's mid 6 winger

unless they shed significant salary, they dont have the cap space to match it. They have 2 expiring contracts that are above 1 mil only 2 mil each, so their payroll isnt going to decrease that much at all

yes but in order to replace the guys who are expiring without raising their payroll, they are going to have to sign guys for next to league minimum. If they resign Jumbo again thats another contract that essentially doesnt come off the books. Lets account for them trading Sorensen, and the other 2 mil contracts plus Labancs 1 mil coming off give them 6.5 mil for 4 spots, as all the other contracts coming off are at league minimum so lets assume they all just get replaced by more league minimum contracts. Matching Labanc's 4 mil gives them 2.5 mil for 3 spots. Do they want 3 more league minimum players when they could have players that can actually impact a game?
