How? You have nearly 17M cap if the cap stays flat.. Strome, Fast, Lemeiux, DeAngelo & Georgy are really the only things worth bringing back, and I highly doubt they all account for more than 12M-13M.. still leaves you guys with plenty of room especially considering the amount of prospects that're knocking on the door..

edit: plus if you + the 4.M or 5.7M from my proposed buyouts, I can't see why there'd be an issue at all

Jake Allen has positive trade value, so he can be moved for a draft pick at the very least. Steen is the best choice for the Blues, especially if they want to keep Pietrangelo.

Anaheim has no need to buy out Backes, as the Ducks are nowhere near the cap ceiling, aren't likely to be able to sign any free agent with a ticket big enough to get them near it, and Backes only costs them $2.5 million in real cash.

I can't see Colorado buying out Johnson because he's still effective, a good mentor for Byram and Makar, and the Avalanche are at the bottom of the salary and cap hit tables.

The way I see it, if i'm COL, buyout Johnson and then sign Pietriangelo for 3-4M more than you're paying Johnson (he's worth a lot more) and bang, you replaced him and upgraded a ton while only spending an extra like 3-4M
