Everyone busy looking at how bad the MTL trade is they don't even notice Montour got traded for Duclair then signed for nearly $5M

It got added later on. That trade was originally not there.

At the end of the day, this team is almost a lock to make the playoffs, but there's some terrible value here.

I think that you could add Kotkaniemi and Romanov to that package and it would still be a bad trade for Buffalo. The one hope the Sabres have for the future is that the #7 overall pick is the game-breaker they need (to go with Cozens, Dahlin and Eichel).

to be fair he is probably worth your 1st if it's in the 9-12 range (7 is too high IMO) but i believe Cozens can be the best player from the 2019 draft. Big, strong and skates like the wind. Him and Eichel on the same line would be fun to watch
