Wanted to make some big forward changes. Not sure if a top 8 pick will be enough for Cirelli, but want to target a center like that.

value might be ok, but we need forwards a lot more than defenseman, especially right-handed defenseman

If we take one more salary from Tampa and add another pick or prospect they could consider it. MoJo can certainly fetch at least a 3rd and a B prospect. If we were to acquire Bean he would be playing over Coburn and Borgen

Not sure Bean would be playing over Borgen. Also I think if the lightning are going to move Cirelli for futures the Sabres 7th o/a is about as good as they can expect. No one has traded a top 4 pick knowing it was a top 4 pick in 15 years. LA, Anaheim and NJ are stacked with center/center prospects so it makes little sense for them to give up that large of an asset for Cirelli. There have been only 3 trades in the last 20 years of the draft player for a pick that include a top 10 pick and the highest of those was the 8th o/a.

That’s overkill, you give them something akin to the 6mil compensation with conditions and call it a day
