Still looks like a playoff miss and Jordan Staal has a full NMC so good luck.

Don't think Staal waives for Buffalo. Rumor is he has been asked before and refused. Also why would we want to add that player and have to use one of our protections on him going into an expansion draft

Its close to Ontario... and because you don't have a #2 center. This is all fantasy. Let's be real, NO ONE WANTS TO GO TO BUFFALO.

I'd happily make that Wild trade. I do think Mitts is likely to be traded since the GM that drafted him is now gone.

Sabres say no on the Carolina deal. Don't see the Sabres trading for old washed up guys (no thanks of Staal). You get more back (more than 2 broken down boat anchors) trading Johansson and Risto individually.

Anderson trade is an overpay considering where that 2nd is likely to be (the 2nd alone should be enough).

Mittelstadt trade looks like something I'd expect to see. One for one like the Nylander deal.

Miller has more value on this team alongside Dahlin. He was their best RD when he was allowed to play and it wasn't close. Move him in his UFA year at the deadline for better than a 3rd.

You’ve severely missed the memo with Carolina. We need to trade d men out, right. But we don’t want them back. We’ve already got enough D men to give Charlotte half an NHL blue line.

Edmundson, Vatanen, and TVR will be gone next season leaving us with a left side of Slavin, Skjei, Fleury, Gardiner, Bean and a right side of Hamilton, Pesce and Keane. If Hamilton does not re-sign then we are desperately going to need a RD, on top of that the general thought is that one of Skjei, Fleury or Bean will be plucked by Seattle. So bringing in a competent D-man in need of a change of scenery as insurance is almost necessary.

Staal and Mojo have very similar points totals, yet Staal is a shutdown defender and true center which is what Buffalo needs. Mojo has a more offensive flair which is what the Canes need. Gardiner would be the #2 defender on this Buffalo team in terms of points. So you can call them boat anchors but they are an upgrade on what you have. Anderson will have a lot of suitors so I think it will take more then one pick to snag him, although things have gotten rocky for him in Columbus so they may ship him to Buffalo for free as an F U. The Middlestadt trade seems like a loser for Buffalo but lets be real he is in bust territory and isn't really showing signs of improvement, why not trade him for a much needed goal scorer. Miller can be effective but isn't being used properly in Buffalo. Maybe WPG could send over a prospect as well.

You missed by the time the Seattle draft happens, Fensore, Honka, McKeown, Kaski, etc will be NHL ready. We don't need more d men, we have more than enough

Still pass on the Staal deal. Easily. No interest. None. Done with Mojo soon enough. Not tacking on 2 more years at more money for an old man with just about no upside in Staal. No interest in Gardiner. None. Not taking on that ugly deal for three more years. The Carolina deal is a complete non-starter disaster and I hate Risto. Mojo gets moved at the trade deadline for a late 2nd. I'd rather have that 2nd than that entire Carolina package.

Pass on Anderson altogether if someone is willing to overpay.

Mittelstadt is definitely nearing bust territory. Not there yet but it's a fair conversation.

Miller was a victim of Botterill being an idiot (which was par for the course) and trading for every RHD he could then never trading any away. Buffalo keeps him until the trade deadline in his final year if a 3rd and a B prospect is all that's on the table. Far more value in the lineup.
