Arizona rejects. Too much money, too much term.

Nashville and Detroit probably decline.
Arizona deal is just about perfect for what they should do but that, of course, means they won't...

Ideal Offseason
Have to say, I like this entire plan. Not a fan of trading Wilson but that's something I would do. Only problems I see (other than the Pegulas) are Toffoli and Mittelstadt in the Danault deal. Toffoli's not signing in Buffalo. Price is about right but Montreal probably doesn't want a center back so the prospect will have to be replaced.
Overall good work.

Definitely 2021 1st, Pilut, Montour (regardless of what you think on Risto, Montour instead just based on $ value alone) and a midround pick (4th or 5th based on your thoughts on Garland.
Way I figure it: Dvorak for 1st and Pilut (who they know has no value to Buffalo), Montour and the 4th/5th for Garland with Raanta as a sweetener as they need to move him more than Buffalo needs him in this goalie market.
Then structure a Risto deal around Zacha if possible or with Calgary (or whoever).

Bills make money, Sabres don't. The Pegulas love money. Story explained.

Agreed on Kim Pegula. Not on the Arizona and Minnesota trades. Both are underpays. That said, you targeted the right guys in the AZ deal. Just add more value. Deal.probably needs a 1st worked in somewhere.

Ok, that makes more sense. You could probably get more for Compher elsewhere then trade lesser futures for Bonino.

Matt Roy - Bonino - Hall
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>In a vacuum Compher for Bonino is certainly an overpay given age and contracts. Bonino is a better C, but the difference between them quality-wise isn't huge and Compher is considerably younger. Nashville also need wingers so he'd be a perfect fit there.
That said, the retention is the key factor here. Swapping Compher for Bonino with retenion saves $1.5m in cap that can go towards adding Hall. Maybe it would need to be a 2nd though.</div></div>
I meant Bonino isn't worth Compher alone. I wouldn't do it unless you really need the cap savings. The pick is overkill.

Looks reasonable for Kuemper in a weak goalie market.
NJD rejects. Athanasiou doesn't have much if any value at that qualifying offer...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Boomer125</b></div><div>It's not unreasonable at all, Buffalo needs to make the playoffs (Freddie has consistently done that for TO), has an internal Cap of 70 million (Freddie makes a whopping 1 million dollars this final season) and the only way it's costs that 1st is if the Sabres make the playoffs or Freddie plays 60 games (which the team can control) or Freddie resigns (which the team can control) so if a condition is met it's likely 20 - 25 OA</div></div>
In this goalie market it's still an overpay. Ullmark is good enough compared to Andersen.

Compher for Bonino 1 for 1 is still an overpay. That desperate for the cap savings?
Sabres should make an offer for both Jost (or Compher) and Zadorov but with their new internal cap who knows.

He's looking for big money. Rumors anywhere from $6M to $8M depending on term. He's probably too slow and soft for Boston anyway...

Can't trade a bunch of junk you don't want for Ehlers (let alone adding Roslovic). Won't work.
Overpay for Faksa, underpay for Donskoi.
Anaheim deal is interesting. Not sure they would do it but good work on that one.
Eller for Risto is probably a 1 for 1 if it happens.

At a minimum. Or another high pick (add another 2nd or a 1st minimally). Carter has negative value.

Selling both guys cheap. Way to cheap for OEL (wouldn't target Carter at all) but you never know in this bizarre market.
