Not the worst Kuemper trade I've seen. Ekblad trade would be fun but won't happen.

Sabres should reject but these days who knows what they're going to do. Probably not as far off as people think. Maybe add a midround pick.

$4M actual dollars for $6M cap hit? I could see Ottawa doing this if they have to get to the floor but I don't think they're in that position. Also, wouldn't need to retain in this situation as the extra $2M cap would only help Ottawa.
Maybe Buffalo takes that deal (with no retention). A way to keep to thisow $70s internal budget while looking like you're spending... Would make a nightmare for next year's resigning of Dahlin/Jokiharju but the organization hasn't shown any ability to plan ahead yet so...possible.

Laine to Carolina
Not an easy pass but a pass from Carolina on Laine.
Easy pass from Carolina on Andersen. He might get a late 1st in a year with no goalies available. This year is a buyers market. Don't think he gets a 1st let alone 13th OA.
Bruins also pass. Wouldn't target Gardiner. Better things they could do with $4M.
Not sure I like the Bean deal for Carolina but it's in the ballpark of reasonable.

Wow. This is one of the worst trades I've seen on here in a while. Just shameful. Have the 2nd going the other way and it's still an easy no with no counter offer made.

Without putting any thought into is, Turris and Stepan. Both are preferable to Bonino.

No guarantee the Pegulas don't stay cheap. But even then, not trading a top 10 pick for one year and the chance to maybe sign him. No extension, I'd do no more than a 2nd and Montour.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RoyalBlueSabres</b></div><div>what r u thinking then.</div></div>
If he resigns then the 2020 1st might make sense for both sides (ignoring the enormous elephant in the room that is the Pegula's internal cap pressures). With that added, I don't see a Danault trade making sense unless they can move money out elsewhere.

rant
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>I dont think they will sell. I think their finances took a big hit when the cost of energy dropped. I dont know what happened with ror. That mess should have predated any financial problems, and they basically signed off on the worst trade in franchise history to avoid paying a 7 million bonus. When i say their pr cant be any worse, im referring to nhl circles, this is not a place you wanna go to. As far as fans and advertisors go, sure, they could lose more. You are right about apathy, that would be bottom for fans.</div></div>
Sorry, misunderstood. In hockey circles, yeah. Firing Botterill and purging the department was rough. No wonder they have to promote internally. ROR was either financial (the Sabres have been struggling for a while financially even when the Pegula's other lines of business were doing fine) or one of those rich guy bully temper tantrums (ROR hurt Terry and Kim's feelings so they couldn't stomach handing him a big chunk of money to maximize the hockey aspect). Only two possibilities I've come up with. Either way, bad for business. More dark days to come in Sabreland.
