Don't know why everyone fights this trade. 2 players that excel Offensively at their respective Positions, while not being exceptional Defensively. Long Term future with each of their respective Franchises is questionable. I just think this trade works perfectly.

DeAngelo would play behind Weber and Petry
Not trading a guy who can play top6 for a dman we’ll use on the 3rd pairing

If the Rangers were to trade DeAngelo for draft picks, the return would be about a 1st round pick plus a 3rd round pick or a player or prospect worth about a 3rd round pick. I don't believe any NHL team would even offer a 1st round pick for Domi. So maybe it's not people fighting the trade, it's people fighting against the Rangers getting ripped off.

Sabres don't do Miller for Strome 1 for 1. Pass on badly overpaying a 3C.

Except Domi >>> Kapanen and Kapanen returned a 1st and a prospect. Keep dreaming.

As I agree Domi is better than Kapanen, comparing the trade by JR is useless, as he was robbed.

In my last dream I realized that Kapanen is signed for two more years at a very affordable $3.2 million. After which upon the contract expiration he's still an RFA. Domi on the other hand, is currently an RFA and will certainly be asking for much than $3.2 million.

Your suggesting 5 years at $5.5 million. As great as you believe Domi to be, there are question marks about signing him long term to an expensive contract. That's why no team (outside of "Dreamland" and "Fantasyland") would trade a 1st round pick for Domi.

Have fun living in dreamland.
If we move Domi (a 25 year old center 1 season removed from 72 points) we're getting back far more than a 1st.
You can do whatever mental gymnastics you want in your head to try to convince yourself the Rangers have a shot at landing him though.

5 years at 5.5 million the Rangers can't afford Domi, even if they think of him as highly as you think of him.

I think Domi for Tony... Mtl should still get something more... I think DeAngelo could be a good fit in case we need to let Petry Go... and He could play with Def-guy Chiarot.
I am very high on Buch: Would you consider packaging both Tony & Buch for Domi, Armia, Brook, 2nd?

Detroit accepts, That's pretty much what i'd be willing to offer for Alexander Gerogiev.
