I don’t think Demko can go from being a back up straight to #1. Van can give Crawford more playing time than it seems CHI is willing to promise. Might need to bump him up to 4M for the one year.

Montour might be left to walk according to Friedman. The trade happens after Van pays the signing bonus to Loui and then he is only 1M in actual salary next year and 4M in actual salary for the last year. Since buff will be under an internal cap the actual dollars come into play. Virtanen is awarded for the trouble but could add.

Not sure on the Value for Greenway but I saw him in a few trades and the Canucks could use some grit to replace Virtanen and Sutter when healthy has been a solid PK’er with only a year left and also add a third. Bending says they won’t deal picks or prospects but who are we kidding. Could bump this to a 2nd.

Sign Vatanen to a 1 year deal as the usual high paid long term contracts might be tough to find with the salary cap freeze.

With the trades to move out cap and short term signings ensure you can still sign Petey, Quinn and Demko when their ELCs run out.

I still don’t think buffalo does this. But Vancouver would at least have to take back Ristolainen to clear some more cap and money.

Buffalo isn't going to take back another useless contract...they have Okposo's for another 3 yrs. I don't think Virtanen is a big enough piece for any team to take on Eriksson.

Yeah, easy no. Add a 1st and they consider it but probably still say no.

I'm sorry, but taking on Eriksson is way too much to ask for what should be a 1 for 1 trade with montour and virtanen

Crawford is staying with the Hawks for another season, Yeah Virtanen alone doesn't unload Eriksson and not for Montour that's a bad deal for Buffalo.

These aren't good. At best these are fair deals with added cap dumps making them easy passes for any team offered

Thanks for the replies. Just want to point out that after the signing bonus Eriksson is paid out by VAN the only actual money Is at 1M for next year and 4M the 2nd year. If there is an internal cap the actual money paid out would only really matter. Not a buff fan so didn’t realize he was in decent regard- just going off the Friedman report that they might let him walk.
