All a matter of contracts, and flat cap more than anything, I wonder what the negotiations are like in Winnipeg and Carolina as far as those players go. Value diminishes a little with expansion coming and lack of extension. Seattle probably going to be given a solid start.

Not an easy pass but a pass from Carolina on Laine.

Easy pass from Carolina on Andersen. He might get a late 1st in a year with no goalies available. This year is a buyers market. Don't think he gets a 1st let alone 13th OA.

Bruins also pass. Wouldn't target Gardiner. Better things they could do with $4M.

Not sure I like the Bean deal for Carolina but it's in the ballpark of reasonable.

There is no way Carolina is going to pay him next summer. Dougie is going to be asking for 8+ million on a long term deal.
Carolina's blue line will be fine without him.
They can afford to do this to bring in a guy that could help add to a loaded forward core that'll be elite for a decade.
