I would be concerned about Jost. His face off percentage is 36 percent. And he has the exact NHL PPG as Casey Mittlestadt.

Well, Jost probably won't be a center in the NHL, but he'll probably be a middle 6 winger. He's not a lock at the Avs line-up and is bouncing around the line-up. So his production definitely took a hit. He should be a 3rd line winger next year, with 2nd line potential in 1-2 years

That's a fair assessment.

Jost is a player that excels when he plays with other good players, and he needs a long run of games for things to click. But in Colorado he simply isn't going to get that opportunity going forwards as we have Kadri at 2C and Newhook on the way. On a team like Buffalo he would very likely get the minutes and PP time that he needs to be successful.

No thanks. Johansson is a middle 6 C and we need a top 6 C.

Let’s slow the roll there. 1) face off percentage is overrated. I really wish they had a clutch FO% stat for like the final 2 minutes of a period. 2) you’re comparing players who are less than a yr apart in age (good), but to one that is an established player on one of the best teams in the NHL vs one who hasn’t been able to establish on one of the worst teams (bad). 3) Mittlestadt managed his scoring rate at a staggering oZS% of 67.0 vs Jost at an oZS% of 49.6 (bad).
Jost imo thrives with more ice time and responsibility and is ultimately a 40-50pt forward that can play in all situations.

McCabe was statistically their 3rd best dman, hes also a defacto captain. BuT hE dOeSnT sCoRe. Defensemen need to play defense and he was the best at that on the Sabres who had a top 12 defense 5v5

It's not that he doesn't score. It's that he can't even hit the net. Ever. He also can really pass. So your point on McCabe > Montour is a bit out there.

Colorado trade seems like a bit of an overpay. keep Samuelsson & Kamanev out of it then it looks about right.

Hes a defensive defenseman. Im not worried about his shot. And he lead the team in zone exits. He dumps the puck but as a defensive defenseman thats his assignment, hes doing what hes told. I dont want him as a top 4 dman but i 100% want him as a solid 3rd pair dman, and he is good enough to not over pay for a 2nd pair dman and especially not bad enough to give away for nothing. Montour is statistically average. Doesnt excel at anything in the defensive zone, or anything offensive except zone entries. Montour is expendable with the glut of RHD as well, where as Buffalo only has 2 LHD currently
