Turris and Holtz

Created by: OldNYIfan

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 28, 2020
Published: Jun. 28, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The outline of the Turris trade was suggested by two Nashville supporters, but in a form more expensive to the Predators. I think that it's an offer Buffalo can't refuse.

The two important signings are shown on the LTIR.

Michael Del Zotto is an excellent placeholder at #3 LD until Johnson and Samuelsson are ready in a couple of seasons.

Is Turris that bad where Preds would pay that to get out of his contract?

Term and AAv are both rough... he'd deserve 4 mil max

So yeah he probably has negative value or very close to it

Holtz will be a steal at 8. If they pick Sanderson though, time for sad face

I do not like Holtz. In addition to his strange shot, there seems to be not much there, not an assistant in defense, a low hockey IQ. I would prefer Rossi, Raymond or Jarvis.

That's why you're getting a second and a third, and both in the 2020 draft.

While Turris is expensive at $6M per, he may be the best value option Adams has as a .5 PPG player. He can then slide into the 3C roll in a couple years.
There will be some market for his services only bc a number of teams need veteran help down the middle. Those are the biggest constrained resource in hockey.

Salami, I think that your comment was garbled in translation.

Knowing you, I think that you were trying to say "Other than his powerful shot"

I think that you didn't mean "strange" = "peculiar" or "unusual" or "weird" but "strong" = "powerful" or "forceful" or "dangerous"

You may not have to worry because I think Anaheim might take him at #6 if Drysdale and Raymond are gone in addition to The Big Three

I meant by the word strange that he makes his shots from not the most convenient positions, instead of choosing the best position for shot, it seems to me because of his not the highest hockey IQ.

It's hard to predict, but maybe New Jersey will take his at #7, they have Hischier and Hughes in the center, maybe they need a shooter on the wing.

Your opinion on his shot-taking is a very interesting and perceptive insight. If that is his primary problem, I think it is a weakness that can be cured by good instruction and good coaches.

Yes, I think it can be fixed. I also think we need a playmaker rather than a shooter, so Rossi and Raymond would be a better choice for me.
