the **** is that edmonton trade. Puli isnt even close to freddies value. Edmonton would need to add not the leafs lul.

As for Driedger if he does well in Florida leafs can pick him up as a UFA when freddie goes.

Oilers pass very hard. Can’t afford to commit that much money to goaltending with kosk on the books. Not into the idea of giving up assets for someone will be exposing.

Said it before leafs are a terrible team to inquire about jp. Top six is too full to offer him opportunity would just create the same issue charelli and Todd caused.

so you would rather have an older goalie, who isnt as good and has less NHL experience than Freddie, who can play more games without falling, and be the better of the 2 goalies. Okay. Even so that trade is heavily in the oilers favor and we wouldnt do that.

with all the cap problems the leafs have they could use a cheap and productive forward

Puljujärvi couldn't crack a wide open Oilers roster. Trading Andersen for him is a terrible move.

That’s not true he played very well with oilers when given a decent role. Todd just refused to give him an opportunities so he left. Hence this is horrible idea for leafs they have the 2rw top six spots locked up nowhere for him to play so giving a goalie away for free.

Agreed but without a chance to compete for a top six role he ain’t flying back to North America. Leafs can’t provide him that chance with Marner and nylander around.

that's probably only going to be another year until toronto has to make the move anyway.

From the outside it looked like he wasn't making progress. I guess that explains it.

I think so too very iffy if they can make it threw three years of this cap situation. But until they pull that type of trigger JP is someone not worth the leafs time considering current roster. He’s a lot better and more value able than he’s treated on this site.

Honestly Todd shouldn’t have been given another coaching job after the decisions he made in Edmonton. Excellent coach before that but he really hurt Edmonton i would argue more than charelli. Jp would get a shift with mcdavid then nurse would turn puck over and Todd would bench JP. It was sickening how he was treated. You could tell he had zero guidance or direction I really think it was a communication barrier and Todd and charelli didn’t take the time to resolve and just treated as an extra. I feel confident in saying he’s far from a bust because I’ve watched nearly every single game he played with the oilers and was a season ticket holder at the time. Kid has all the tools just requires direction and getting stuck with lucic for nearly the entire time was pure and utter stupidity everyone’s numbers fell off a cliff around him.

Yes in principle. Koskinen has an NTC so he'd be protected and we'd have to leave Freddie available.

So the answer is no.

Not really heavily in favour for oilers... That’s going to tie up all money towards addressing needs and kosk has a no trade requiring expansion protection so good bye Freddy it just doesn’t make sense for the oilers. Values only matter if the team could use or wants the player. Nothing at all against Freddy but this list of moves the oilers would have to make for the deal to work for them becomes not worth it.

I would rather have Koskinen + a $2M backup than Koskinen + Anderson. The $3M extra cap space is HUGE.

He left because of the Oilers medical team. They allowed him to play almost an entire season with serious pain in his hips and he didn't appreciate that at all.

He played his entire 20 year old season with hip pain due to a congenital issue. The fact that his scoring rates took a step back is completely understandable.
