I'm sure you saw all the scrimmages on youtube and especially the last two, Sikura has looked awesome...maybe the best offensively besides Kane and Nylander.

well that’s what we thought last season and he winds up with the IceHogs again. I personally don’t have high hopes

Stromer looked really good, yes I was watching.

I would like to see him get in a game or two in Edmonton. I was really hopeful for him when he first came over, and I hope he can find his game here, or somewhere else.

Bottom line, the kid has skills but the question is can he put it together? He struggles with his size but clearly he's fast, can handle the puck and has a shot. There's still some hesitation where to be without the puck which to be is his biggest issue right now; positioning and reacting without the puck.

Let's see if Strome has been working on his endurance because the last two seasons, he's great for the first 20 to 30 seconds of a shift and then just looses steam it seems and looks like he is running on empty

I think Sikura is very good.... until it gets physical. Yes in the scrimmages he has looked awesome. As someone who has played a lot of hockey and seen some very good practice players that don't translate to a real game when it gets physical they disappear. It may be fear, it may be psychological who knows what it is but some guys just can't do it. I imagine although they played hard in the scrimmages no one was out there throwing serious body or trying to hit anyone hard enough to hurt someone. I would love for it to translate to the real game but who knows what will happen. He hasn't played in physical leagues. He played in minor junior then went to NCAA so he needs to learn how to play when it's physical.

I think part of it depends pick/Maatta question is what happens to Hall. If he resigns, the Devils pick up another 2nd to add to to their collection.

Personal opinion - I’d leave it as a 3rd for Maatta.

Id like to see them give a game to the Hagel-Kurashev-Sikura line, just to get a little experience. It could pay out, especially against a team that seemingly is a little thin on the bottom 6 forwards.

I'm fine with that, just trying to spice things up.

I've been saying it for months huff

Gonna be hard to fit him into the lineup next season, with all of the wingers we'll have fighting for jobs next year, but I'd welcome him in the middle six. Lots of good tools, he's just gotta pull it all together.

Of course, I traded him this afternoon in my post, so maybe I'm speaking out of both sides of my mouth here, but I like him a lot and would like to see him work out with us
